All About Me
I'm Connor Sleet 17 and I have been interested in media from a very young age trying to create my own movies and had a great fondness for watching movies. With lots of experience from taking on early film work in Cineclub for my school, where I helped with a variety of jobs and won best movie. I also was asked to do the school Christmas music video on several occasions which has made me more fond of the media itself. I watch ranging genre's and types of movies with one of my favourite directors being Edgar Wright for his style of movies being simplistic and yet great showing the main story-line whilst having a good laugh in the seriousness. My favourite movie of his has to be Shaun of the dead for being the first in its unique genre Zom-rom-com. This was almost revolutionary and helps to bring something new to the movie industry, because of his movies my favourite genre has to be comedy.
I hope to go on to university to further study media and hopefully one day direct my own movies. I would like to either would as a director or do some form of editing due to the movie being put together has always interested me, mainly because of the abstract effects and way in which you can make the film, turning a normal movie into something abstract just by changing the timeline. The may be an effect in which I include for my music videos, although my music taste changes I always like Indie the most.

At As I done a Thriller introduction to a movie trying to make it a unique movie with a abstract feel like Memento, the movie was a lot of work having to put in after hours work a lot of the time in order to create the effect in which I wanted to achieve, making sure that the work was of a good standard and that overall it looked professional. With the movie the overall good points was that it was something very unique with the filming being very subjective to make sure the audience felt empathy towards the characters. I also put a great level of detail in working closely using the mise-en-scene to create effects that can't be possible with the camera alone, for example making a certain character feared by placing them in darkness and never revealing their face during their dark actions.
If I was to improve on my work I would have spent more time working finding suitable environments and making sure that the help to add effect to the scene, the locations are a crucial aspect which I may need to focus on more and make sure that they have an impact on what i am trying to achieve otherwise the movie may not be suitable. Overall the skills which I have obtained by working in AS will be really beneficially such as some of the editing filters and importing live type text to make it look more professional. Also including a variety of transitions to make the clips blend well together with the transitions , this will make the music video more easy to view.
Music is my life, and I would not be able to go on without music, almost everyday I watch a music video which helps to inspire me and give me new ideas for movies. I want to show off my new ideas for creating the music videos and also pay homage to some of the greatest music videos. Some video's are too amazing to live up too such as The White Stripes and their director Michele Congrick with one of the most amazing videos, "Fell in Love with a Girl" a movie only done with lego. This was one of the most insiprational videos I've seen and will help me with ideas for my video.
